Academic Contests

Grade 7 & 8
Rockway Grades 7 & 8 students write the Gauss Mathematics contest, while select students write the Canadian Geographic contest each year. Grades 7 & 8 students enter projects in our schoolwide Science Fair, judged by local university science professors. Top projects are chosen to represent the school at the Waterloo Regional Science Fair, where students have garnered numerous awards over the years.
Grades 9 - 12
Rockway high school students enter the Pascal, Euclid, and Fermat Mathematics contests, plus the University of Waterloo Avogadro Chemistry contest, the Sir Isaac Newton Physics contest, the Ontario Association of Physics Teachers contest, and the University of Toronto National Biology contest, with excellent results.
