Parent Volunteers Needed - Spring Dance - Wednesday June 6

Parent help is needed to make this event a success.  Can you volunteer a couple hours of your time?

- Food prep 5:30-7:30 (hot food)

- Cleanup 7:30-9ish

Rockway’s Annual Fund Raising Golf Tournament –

Wednesday June 6th. Come out for a day of fun, food, prizes and fellowship, raise money to support Rockway,  and have a chance to win a Toyota!! For details go to www.rockway.ca and click on golf tournament.

Exam Preparation Already??

Well no. But it is time for grade 11 and 12 students to consider FREE subject-specific exam preparation sessions being held in June at UofW by Tutors Beyond Borders, a tutoring service created and run by Rockway alumni Brenda Lee. Registration is required. Information pages are available from all senior math and science teachers, and also in Resource and Student Services.

Grade 9-12 Students -

"That Quarter Formal Spring Thing" on Wednesday, June 6, 6:30 - 7:30 Music and appetizers, 7:30 - 9:30 Dance and dessert.  Tickets are $10.00 sold at lunch, May 14-18.

Concert Combo

A reminder to concert combo choristers of their church visit to Shantz Mennonite Church on Sunday, May 27. Ms. Schultz will outline warm-up times after spring concert.

Volunteers needed at Hidden Acres Camp, September 7-9

Here's a fantastic opportunity to earn hours, have fun and also gain valuable experience. Volunteers will participate in a retreat for individuals with disabilities, their friends, families and supporters. Volunteers will help with all parts of the retreat: helping in the kitchen, assisting with activities (set-up, running and clean-up), working 1:1 with individuals with disabilities. Drop by Student Services for information or email Deb at debbh@rockway.ca

Still looking for summer work?

Hidden Acres camp near New Hamburg is looking for lifeguards, male counsellors, assistant maintenance crew and kitchen staff. Applications are available in Student Services.

Grade 11 Students and Parents

Please send an email to Deb Baxter Heeney at debbh@rockway.ca with the subject line "Grad 2013".  This will include you in the grade 12 email list for 2012-2013 so that you receive information about the research and application process for university and college, community service hours and also scholarships. Get yourself in the grad loop!

GRADE 12 RETREAT DAY

On Thursday, May 24th, Grade 12s will spend a fun, relaxing day together at Paradise Lake where we will enjoy both some land and water activities, socializing, eating, sharing plans for next year, contributing to a time capsule and hopefully doing all of this under a warm, inviting sun!

Shop Rockway is an "on-going" school fundraiser!  Everyone needs groceries so why not  make it a habit to buy grocery cards at school?  We have $10, $20 and $50 cards left in for Tim Hortons, $10, $25, $50 and $100  cards in for President Choice, $50 and $100 for Sobey's and $50 and $100 for Metro.
