Parent Ambassadors

What is a Parent Ambassador?
One of the unique aspects about Rockway is the strong sense of community that develops among the students, faculty, staff and families. We know, as parents, it is important to feel connected to our children’s friends and the parents of those friends.
While there are many informal ways for families to connect at Rockway - sitting in the bleachers at a game or drama presentation, volunteering at events, carpooling etc., we have developed a more intentional way to connect parents called the “Parent Ambassador” program.
Why are Parent Ambassadors important?
Parent Ambassadors provide opportunities for parents to meet with one another to build that sense of belonging and community with other parents in their children’s grade as well as the chance to get to know parents who have students at different points in the Rockway experience.
What do they do?
Parent Ambassadors attend key Rockway events wearing distinctive t-shirts so that they are able to promote the school and answer questions that might arise about life at Rockway. Working closely with school personnel, the Parent Ambassador program is open to everyone- our goal would be that everyone would become a Rockway Parent Ambassador!
