University / College Application Process

Know yourself. What are your strengths, goals, dreams and passions?
Research your options. Are you headed to university, college, an apprenticeship program, interested in internship or in one of the many gap year opportunities?
Keep an open mind. Life is constantly changing and there is no one right answer to which path is best for you.
Procedure
- Access the variety of post-secondary resources in Student Services. Magazines career books self-assessment tests guidebooks and CD's from individual institutions.
- Attend application information sessions sponsored by Student Services.
- Attend university and college lunch hour campus visits in the Silo.
- Attend local university and college fairs.
- Visit university and college campuses on weekends summer holidays or March Break.
- Obtain your OUAC (Ontario University Application Centre) PIN access number from Student Services in late October early November
- Take the free online tutorial that walks you through the simple application process.
- Research scholarship opportunities.
Plan
- Apply online to the Ontario University Application Centre for Ontario universities.
- Apply online to Ontario Colleges Application Centre for Ontario colleges.
- Apply online to individual institutions for those outside Ontario or Canada.
- International students register to take an English Proficiency test.
